Bill Essert is now a Certified ParkinsonWISE® Professional!

On January 16, 2021, the Parkinson Association of Northern California (PANC) in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Neuroscience awarded a Certificate of Training to non-medical professionals who have completed the ParkinsonWISE® course. They are now included in PANC’s list of Trained Professionals who can extend their expertise with the Parkinson community.

PANC is an independent organization providing services to patients with Parkinson’s disease and their families to help them live well and receive treatment from experts who deeply understand the challenges they face. For over 25 years, they are “Building Community for the Journey.”

Parkinson’s Disease is a degenerative brain disorder caused by the impairment of neurons producing dopamine and norepinephrine. It affects balance, coordination, emotion, and even memory. It gets worse as it progresses and can cause mobility, speech, and behavioral changes. As the symptoms resemble that of normal aging, many people dismiss the probability, leading to more serious symptoms.

Although Parkinson’s Disease can be treated with medicines, a professional who can comprehend and sympathize with what you’re going through is worth being on your treatment team!
